see a number of familiar faces making familiar arguments... LEAPs are considered powerful trading strategies for options traders under certain conditions.

Hello, Poet. I kinda expected you here after LoF's visit yesterday. (That's familiar to me.)

No argument from me on the above statement about LEAPS. I am glad that you read the Roth book. I am sure that you have more experience that I in options, and that counts for a lot.

As far as manuals are concerned, you yourself have read Roth's book and, as I have heard you say before, its a very good book to learn the difference between options versus LEAPS strategies. I hope that you will encourage others to do the same. You know I love The Gorilla Game. I read it after reading another of Moore's books, Inside the Tornado. Guess who suggested that I read it--Dan Wormenhoven himself! (No, we do not have a personal relationship, but I have attended a number of meetings and social events where he has spoken or been present.)

One can buy and sell stocks and options without ever reading any authoritative writings, academic studies, technical white papers, investment strategies, or financial documents. We certainly, as a community, don't require them here. We do, however, when asked an opinion about any of the above, often refer folks to a writing that offers advice or draws conclusions relavent to the question asked. Also, when asked an opinion, we often give one, and, if we feel strongly about that opinion, we may try to support that opinion with more discussion.

Of course, you will never hear me giving advice about trading, just opinion. You may hear me give advice about good things to read, music to hear, movies to see, web sites to visit. (Roth's book is way up there with me! I'm a anxiously awaiting Steely Dan's new album to arrive in my mailbox; and I really enjoyed The Perfect Storm. NetApp's web site is among the best you will ever see for learning about the company and relevant technologies.)

I hope you will come back to this thread often to share new information and insights into the storage business, NTAP and its competitors, in particular.

Come over to the Curmudgeon thread sometime!
