MGJ: Re: "If his goal was the lower target over the two year period he would have to continue raising rates starting in August."

Hey, there is still time for that <g>. But he does not have to jack up rates anymore. There are still four hikes to work themselves through including a 50 basis point one notwithstanding the gasoline tax on top of it all as you have mentioned. Contractions can feed upon themselves. Let's face it. If the market rolls over as Brinker projects and you are a believer in the wealth effect, there is another hidden tax on the economy yet to play out. Some may celebrate the end to the tightening cycle but this does not necessarily mean that the Greenman is going to start an easing cycle anytime soon. And now the market wonders what damage has the Greenman done? Why would he be so market friendly if he did not think he did enough damage? Do I want to be holding certain stocks when the damage goes to the bottom line?
