New dot.com CEO challenges other high tech health companies
RESTON, VA (March 17, 2000)-MillenniumHealth Communications, Inc. (MHC) announced today a $1 million commitment to the National Health Museum (NHM), a new institution to be located at the National Mall, founded by former U.S. Surgeon General C. Everett Koop, MD. William P. Danielczyk, Chairman and CEO, MillenniumHealth Communications, Inc. and Board Member of the NHM, made a check presentation to Dr. Koop, Museum Chair, for the first installment of $250,000 at today's meeting of the Board of Trustees.
"MillenniumHealth Communications, Inc. has made a substantial contribution towards the creation of a National Health Museum that will serve Americans and the world," said Dr. Koop. "I am also pleased to announce that MillenniumHealth Communications' commitment extends beyond its significant financial support. Today Bill Danielczyk has made a commitment for MHC to become a technology partner with the NHM, developing an online presence that will educate and inspire people about health for generations to come."
"MillenniumHealth Communications, Inc. is proud to be the first Internet healthcare company to pledge $1 million to the National Health Museum, however we shouldn't be the last, " Danielczyk added. "I challenge other Internet healthcare portals to make a contribution to the Museum. As proponents of quality healthcare news and information for Americans, we have a unique obligation to this extraordinary national health institution."
The National Health Museum is currently seeking private funding and congressional approval for construction of a facility at a site near the National Mall. Upon completion, the Museum anticipates having over 2 million visitors a year and millions more visiting its web site.
