Both your examples point to the same thing. Eventually everybody will convert to broadband. Its the eventually that is the problem. How long did it take to convert the entire country to cable TV? About 40 years and still counting. I'm not waiting that long to see ATHM be a success. Sure ATHM will be #1 even without self install. #1 in a pitifully small market growing at a tediously painful pace. The pace that people are converted to broadband will define the pace of the transformation of the internet into something that is integral to our everyday lives. Not just ATHM depends on it- every single .com does, though they may not realize it yet. Eric
