"Hey ~ Wanna have SEX?" I yelled into the hall.
No you didn't. But if you had yelled it, I bet it would have been funny, and if you had had the sex, I bet it would have been very strange.
That's a good story. Nobody ever saved my life before, I mean, not that I know of, but if they had, I would have been grateful to have the opportunity to tell them thank you. And, lucky you, not only did she save you, but you got to thank her.
Your story has a freaky resonance because I've decided that the case I've been researching does indeed involve medical malpractice, and I just spent the afternoon copying articles out of medical journals at the NIH library, the one in the hospital. It's a fantastic hospital. I was just wishing that the doctors that treated the boy had consulted with the doctors at NIH, and maybe sent him there. He needed more than he got, and the parents asked the doctor for a referral, but the doctor said he could handle it. I don't think anyone read the bone marrow biopsy report, there's no indication that they knew what they were looking at.
You're lucky someone was looking out for you. |
