As for the need of a license to make the chips for any CDMA product including WCDMA, I think almost any judge in a patent case would agree on that. However that doesn't mean that Nokia won't try to produce the asics needed without a license and try to brazen things out in the subsequent lawsuits. Frequently we see examples of these patent battles. It is not always the patent holder that wins. Hence the patent evaders want to try their luck. But they lose a lot when they are found guilty of stealing the intellectual property. Maybe Nokia doesn't realize that. I've never seen any statement by Nokia that they needed a license from anybody(including QCOM) before they could use CDMA technology. ???
