That's less the case in California. To the extent that is true, Cablevision will be getting a flood of calls for technicians to fix things up later. The last mile on Long Island can't be that much different than that of TCI in California.

People are so desperate for BB that they are willing to go it alone and Cablevision is not controlling this wild scramble. I had that attitude. That means that Cablevision will be incurring tremendous latent cost in the form of support truck rolls. You roll now or you roll later, but you will be rolling.

If you do it initially the total cost to roll is substantially less because you nip the problems in the bud before they have a chance to grow into bad PR. Do we forget so quickly what was learned in the first phase at Fremont?

Few are appreciating that BB sent down a CATV coax line is a delicate affair. It may work initially but over time its delicacy brings out all the inherited weaknesses. This can only be avoided if the proper fixtures. jacks, connectors, supplementary coax, distributors, splitters, etc., are installed by trained personnel.

A company can take the low road of getting the money now and paying later, but what was all that hype about brand? I wonder how endearing the Cablevison brand will be.
