Neo, IMO, what you have said seems to bolster my beliefs of many years. A person's racial background is not, really, a deterrent to success. The problem is with the "mind-set" of the individuals, or family, that predetermines a person's attitude toward education, quality of life, setting goals, and achieving them. I guess what I am trying to say, is the immediate environment, in which a child is raised, is a major factor in the future success, or failure, of that child regardless of racial, or ethnic, origins. I realize that some ethnic groups have traditions in their manner of preparing children for adulthood, which gives them a springboard into their future. I am afraid though, that many of these traditions are falling by the wayside.
