Hi Clappy Neat thread Wish you luck with the paper trading thing I guess it depends on the individual but what I found about paper trading was that it does not compare to the real thing because the emotion thing is such a big part of the whole show, but that is just me. Any way I have been trading options for about 4 years now and I keep migrating to more conservitive positions mainly covered calls I have a lot more luck trading options on the stocks I own in my core those are QCOM EMC JDSU CSCO My gut feel for the moves in the stocks seem to work better than charting Basically I like to sell options, thats kinda boring but I have had lot of thrills both ways on call option so boring is fine with me. Tried a new one Friday I think it is called a bear credit spread sold EMC Aug. 85,s for 6 bought 85 puts for 3 I think the chart is bullish on EMC I say the stock is extended I own 5 JDSU Jan 100's that I will exit Wed Wrote calls on AMCC last week AUG 140,s at 23 ( little worried about that one the stock held up well last week when the semi's were selling off) Options as a strategic investment is the best book on options I have read and I've read a lot of them Important tip for newbie option players: Get you one of the plastic keyboard covers to keep the bodily fluids out, you know sweat, puke, tears of joy A security blanket, next to your computer, is also a must so you can just ball up with it and cry on them really bad days And most of all remember it's only money Good Luck Perry
