Re: Digital TV- Broadcast Station Stats
Thread- Here's an important PR because it mentions exactly how many TV stations have converted to digital broadcasting capabilities.
BTW, the line directed towards the FCC is the NAB spin on their view of digital TV, which from what I gather is SDTV. IMO, a baby-step in technology. -MikeM(From Florida)

SEVEN MORE STATIONS BEGIN BROADCASTING IN DIGITAL
WASHINGTON, D.C., July 12, 2000 – The National Association of Broadcasters announced today that seven additional stations have begun broadcasting in digital, bringing to 143 the number of stations making the DTV transition.
The new DTV stations are: KBWB (WB), San Francisco; WTSP (CBS), Tampa; KPNX (NBC), Phoenix; WBFF (FOX), Baltimore; WJZ, (CBS) Baltimore; WRAZ (FOX), Raleigh; and WXIX (FOX), Cincinnati. Only affiliates of ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in the top 30 markets are currently required to be broadcasting in digital.
"Broadcasters are fulfilling our end of the bargain on DTV," said NAB President and CEO Edward O. Fritts. "Now it’s time for the FCC to adopt pro-consumer rules that ensure a successful DTV transition."
NAB serves and represents America’s radio and television stations. |
