Jay-Ask your broker to talk to a trading specialist. By SEC Rule, only stock that is held in a margin account or in a margin position in a margin account can be used by your brokerage firm to lend to a prospective short buyer or short postion holder. Even if you own 100% of your stock, it is lendable as long as it is in a "margin" account.

When you request that you want your account changed to a cash acount or you want your 100% equity position in a margin account changed from a T2 (margin) position to a T1 (cash) position, the stock is no longer lendable to a short buyer or short position holder. This also means that you can't margin your stock as long as it is in the "cash" status.

If enough people would shift the status of their Radisys long holdings-especially Intel and other Radisys insiders, it would dramatically influence "manipulators" trying to short Radisys. This rule became apparent after 3 conference calls with my broker
and their trading specialists.
