No, not at all. When at Cutter, back in the dark ages and after they had stopped production of the mildly reduced product for I.V. use (I kid you not!), I suggested that plasma could be sorted on the basis of allotype matching. This implied that there was something deficient about current product and pointed to several products in place of one.

Nobody came right out and threatened me with loss of life or limb, but I wasn't encouraged to made a lot of noise about the concept, either.

I wonder if those "mysterious" reactions to Herceptin could be explained this way.

Better file a patent application.... engineering the Abgenix and Medarex heavy chains to insert "null" determinants.....
