Notes on SCHL discussion on Motley Radio. 7/22/00

- Sold 3 million in first week.
- Trying to avoid another Goosebumps fiasco by getting too many returns from booksellers. (Many of the boys wanted the fourth edition, but didn't preorder so waiting for second printing)
- Both Adults and Children reading this vs. Goosebumps which was mostly children.
- Stock outformed S&P last two years.
- 31M Harry Potter books in print
- Author Rowling said will be only 7 Harry Potter (I seriously doubt it, future money will be too tempting.)
**********************
Big difference between Goosebumps which flooded 40 titles in 2 years vs. Potter which has four titles in 2 1/2 years.
Also, the midnight Potter book sale party had more adults than kids.
Over 1000 hits on EBAY when searching Harry Potter today.
