Joey: Re: " I don't quite get what all this hubbub is about David Korn."

I don't know what else I can do to spell it out for guys like you. No matter how much I post on the subject, some people can't seem to put themselves in someone else's shoes for even a second.

So let me draw an analogy. Let's suppose you want to give something away that is near and dear to you. Let's say you are an artist and you want to share a painting that is valuable but it is very sentimental to you. You worked years on developing the skills to be able to do that painting and you worked hard on that particular painting, harder than on any other one. You want to give prints of that painting away for free. Why? You want to feel good about what you are doing in life and this is something you want to do to give your life meaning and satisfaction in helping others. You want to control the the dissemination of your work. You don't mind if your work is seen by everyone so long as it is for FREE.

What happens if those wishes are disregarded by the recipients of your work? How would you feel about the fact that they are charging and are reselling those? Would you feel more inclined then to give prints out for free in the future? I doubt it. Your life would lose some of its meaning as a result. Your wishes have been totally disregarded in the pursuit of a buck. I am sure Brinker feels the same way about his work.

I don't want to hear about how this analogy is flawed because no analogy is perfect.

And I don't want to hear about one's legal right to resell Brinker's work or the prints described above.

If anyone had an ounce of respect for what he has tried to do over the years, they would know what is the right thing to do. You either give the summaries away for FREE as Brinker intended his information to be distributed or you just plain stop it. Otherwise, you become nothing but a scalper in life. But I guess some people will do anything for a buck so long as there are shortsighted people like yourself willing to pay him.

Re: "I would guess his subscription base is very small, hardly worth the viscious comments hailed by "Justa".

You are right. You really don't get it. It is a matter of principle. But maybe you don't know about such things. So, do you think his subscription base will grow as a result of your spam here?

And whether you know it or not, you should thank my sorry butt every day for what I do here because I have done everything in my power to show Brinker that the majority out there appreciate his work and will stand up for him in an effort to have him feel comfortable in continuing doing what he does best and do what he enjoys in life with as little interference as possible. Without the efforts of people like me, you would have no summaries to read because Brinker would more likely to walk and your precious Korn would have nothing to scalp!!!!
