BB: Chuckle. Fun to see mention of Sun Micro here. Sun is a key example of how difficult it is to deal with a company with a mix of excellence in gorilla game terms, as opposed to a single focus.

Once again, as is usual, the only clear way to try to deal with Sun or those in a similar broad position is to use Mike's approach, think in terms of the various elements of its participation. That Sun is the King in network/enterprise servers is simple, direct and clear.

But it is Java, Jini and all the "software" areas that cause confusion. What are they, and what do they add to Sun's value? Hard to measure and judge.

Comments?

Best.
