I have enormous respect for Jimmy Carter, as well. Maybe we should clone him. Then he could be half of each and every police pair.

Using the singular Jimmy Carter to retrieve Elian, however, is demeaning given his enormous skill and stature. Ordinary law enforcement officials should be all that is required to get compliance from petty law defiers and all that is required to get support for that action from the populace. Save Jimmy for the delicate negotiations, like between Diana Ross and the Supremes.
