I don't think it's naive at all - there is a site which shows the percentage of total reserves for each CB that gold represents. To suggest that CBs could dump a reserve of this magnitude is in itself naive. And the last thing they would want is gold in the hands of 'the people'. Far better to dribble a little out each year and do whatever else they are alleged to be up to. If the name of they game is control then why on earth give away your ace in the hole. Far too many on this thread lose sight of this basic fact.
