Dan,
Goutama, both CompUSA and Best Buy had "free" e-machines boxes advertized today, though the CompUSA one was on the back page, separate from the other systems. Both CompUSA and Best Buy also had a more or less left-right low speed-high speed Intel-AMD spread on their main system ads.
Ooops... it's my fault - I failed to notice them.
On the subject of the K6, an interesting bit from a couple weeks back on the K6-2+, favorable review, though it didn't seem to get much notice: tomshardware.com
Of course, given the price, it doesn't really make sense vs. the Duron for new systems, which probably explains the notebook only angle. It'd make a decent upgrade for S7, though, if it could be had.
Last Friday, Fry's advertised K6-3 333MHz with FIC board for about $80. All my computers are Cyrix 233MHz based. So, I'm planning on getting two sets for a cheap upgrade.
