Hi Simba; There are a lot of other institutions that we need the third world countries to have.
(1) No import duties or restrictions. Only the right wing media would have you believe that the decades of high US growth happened at the same time as the US had restrictive import duties with the objective of helping US manufacturers. The rumor that this was a contributing cause to the US Civil War is just that.
(2) A complete welfare system, guaranteeing all citizens food, shelter, medical care and spending money. There was no way that the founding fathers could have gotten by without welfare as we know it, and the third world countries that need to grow need the programs that helped us grow.
(3) Strong political parties with lots of good governmental patronage jobs. While the beginning of the country might have been associated with some feeling that political parties were not a really good idea, the founding fathers soon realized that having 40% of the public on the payroll of the government meant that everybody would have a reason for paying close attention to government. That is why the US now has voting turnouts so much higher than all the third world countries, where the citizens can hardly hope to have a good patronage job.
(4) Compulsory, government managed school systems. The founding fathers were educated in public schools, and everybody else should be. After all, look at where it got us to.
(5) Millions of complicated laws. The US Constitution requires nearly 75 pounds of paper to print out, and any country hoping for a modern system of government should aspire to a similarly complex collection of documents.
(6) Total control by the government of the right to own weapons. This is something the US had from the beginning. These third world countries need to keep a much tighter leash on their citizens if they are going to get them to march in lock step unison towards capitalist harmony.
There are some more, but since I was educated in the US government schools, I can't remember them. They implemented a system where all students automatically passed each grade and so I got by without having to learn too much.
