IMO, VIXL is struggling against BRCD. I found nothing pointing me to any unique capability that VIXL possesses. Perhaps their relationship with NTAP is based on their willingness to apply themselves to NTAP SAN/NAS solutions. Here is a whitepaper from VIXL regarding their work with NTAP:
