hmm interesting article.

I've been told that auto negotiation may not be an SDSL implementation and that at least several vendors do not support auto negotiation.

Subsequently if the Bell Pairs degrade [eg, rain, weather, 60hz power induction etc] then the sdsl connection could fail if the tech set the installation speed too high...the system simply doesn't work.

seems like an awful way to design a modem.
