Steve, Tell me Scumbria, what architecture would you use to design a system with the memory bandwidth of 32 RDRAM channels if you didn't think RDRAM was the way to go? Very good question. At my previous job, we designed a very high end graphics card which used 24 DRDRAM channels. Despite massive hype and many hundreds of engineering man years and tens of millions of investor dollars, it was discovered by marketing that nobody wanted to pay thousands of dollars for a graphics card. It was one of the great boondoggles of Silicon Valley history, and a classic example of great engineering without a properly constructed business plan. Scumbria
