I doubt it. The Rambus advantage here is the bus width. The performance of a single channel of whatever may be similar whether you are talking SDRAM or DDR RAM, but Rambus lends itself to multichannell applications. That is why multichannel Rambus has already been designed into products such as Intel OR840, Sun Microelectronics MAJC and Sony PS2. More details of modular applications using Rambus will be seen within a month, using modules consisting of 4 Pentium 4 processors with 2 RDRAM channels.
