Further on this www.targeted.com site. It is informative but cannot be used as a "final" source. (it does revive a "headache" I developed while researching last spring).
....CNB reported in their information circular that "funds managed by GLOBAL STRATEGY HELD 7,254,882 SHARES OF CNB.
This was verified by CNB office in late april.
I received the following information from Global in april:

Thank you for your e-mail of April 15, 2000. We appreciate the time you
have taken to write to us.

Further to your inquiry, Canabrava Diamond is currently held in Global
Strategy Income Plus Fund and Global Strategy Canada Growth Fund. As at
February 29, 2000, Canada Growth Fund held 1,569,700 common shares of
Canabrava Diamond. As at February 29, 2000, Income Plus Fund held
1,704,700 shares of Canabrava Diamond...........

To me this accounted for 3,274,400 shares of CNB AND LEFT 3,980,482 SHARES OF CNB that were not accounted for.
This to me , meant about 4 mill of CNB CONTROLLED BY gLOBAL that I couldn`t find. I then assumed they were held in some private funds, that for whatever reason they didn`t want to disclose to me.
Looking at www.targeted.com figures for CNB HELD BY global . They report for the end of march/2000. they had added a holding in GLOBAL Strategy GOLD PLUS (fund) of 1,606,900 shares of CNB. This still leaves me searching for the other 2,373,582 shares of CNB held in funds managed by Global Strategy. I find this interesting, as these must be held in another entity. WHO, AND WHY? and, did the Global strategy gold plus, take down a private placement of 1,606,900 shares from the CNB/SWG DEALS LAST SPRING? did they come from HLB? oR DID THEY COME FROM THE "UNKNOWN SHAREHOLDERS IN THE UNKNOWN ENTITY.
See where my headache came from?. If there is 4 mill shares of CNB HELD BY A BUNCH OF PRIVATE INVESTORS IN A FUND MANAGED BY GLOBAL, I would view this as bullish for CNB`S FUTURE.
Can you or somebody else make sense of what I am getting at, at give me a simple explanation of all this? I don`t get it!
