Luke, your points about LE at ORCL bring up an interesting situation that I have perceived about ORCL for some time. ORCL is competing more and more with major links in its value chain. Its aggressive move into financials and other solution software pits ORCL against those who have written solutions that are, in large part, responsible for ORCL's success in enterprise RDBMS. I am not sure that this situation has really effected ORCL's position in RDBMS, but the fact is that MSFT is not competing in the enterprise solutions space. As MS SQL Server becomes more robust and reliable, I foresee the day when the enterprise solutions links in ORCL's value chain will prefer to be in MSFT's value chain.
