I was actually giving myself the benefit of the doubt.

My chart actually shows that it should back off below 3500, but I just don't see that happening. In any case, this next bottom will I think be the last time we see anything near 3700. That could change, of course, if this move gets uglier than it should.

Tom Costello on CNBC just now mentioned the "key number" on the COMP as the point where it started on January 1st of this year. I have no idea what he thinks he is talking about. What possible significance could the close on January 1st, 2000 have to do with anything in the whole world? It's this sort of silliness that gives TA a bad rep. People watch that kind of analysis and it is just so goofy that the only possible conclusion is that TA is voodoo without the chicken bones and drums.

But that's fine with me. The more people that actually try and understand what he is saying, the easier it is for me to make money.
