Cory, Where's the evidence of Siebel having had its head handed to it by Oracle? You wouldn't know that from the stock. Also, G2 is a military expression used for "intelligence." BTW, Ken Goldman told me he's 51. Who wrote 47? Adam

I just think that Siebel has had it's head handed to it by Oracle. I don't know how they come back.
All I can figure is that CFO Goldman is hoping that another four year stint like his last one could land him another bag-full-o-millions, even if it's not as rich as the ATHM payout. I'm anxious to see that pay package.

Seriously, it's hard to see someone leaving @HomeExcite for Siebel as a buying opportunity for either stock. I think it's much more likely that Ken Goldman felt like the walking dead at @Home. I think that's the real reason he left two weeks ago -- survivor's guilt. With the recent departure of the charismatic and crazed ATHM CEO Tom Jermolak, I think that Goldman just didn't want to be around. But I'm glad to see he didn't really retire at age 47.

Got a little G2 for you on an important CFO move in the Valley. Long-time CFO Howard Graham at Siebel Systems is being replaced by long-time CFO Ken Goldman at Excite@Home. Siebel has been en fuego for months and ATHM has been a dog for the same period. It's awfully odd for Goldman, a guy who's made big bucks on ATHM despite its drop, to join an established player like Siebel. I'll follow up when he gets back to me. Graham, recall, is under investigation for his role as CFO of Informix, which settle book-cooking charges with the SEC. This stuff got mentioned in SEBL's call last week but hasn't been announced by either company.

Adam is usually reliable for the news. Hadn't heard of it anywhere else. I don't remember much discussion about Goldman at ATHM on this thread. I like Tom Seibel and feel he is gaining market share and shareholder value in a tough sector where as Bell is losing marketcap monthly. I am thinking Goldman was probably a good addition for SEBL and a loss for ATHM. May be premature, but I sold out of my ATHM today taking my loss.
