Taiwan Vice Fin Min Sees No Reason For More Stk Falls
TAIPEI (Dow Jones)--Taiwan's economic fundamentals and corporate earnings are good so there is "no reason for the stock market to remain depressed," Vice Finance Minister Yen Ching-chang said Tuesday.
In addition, Yen said, major stock markets in the U.S., Japan and Hong Kong have all risen since the May 20 presidential inauguration.

Yen's comments come after recent aggressive government intervention to prop up both the local stock and currency markets as investors increasingly doubt the government's ability to manage the economy.
