All of the portfolios that I manage or advise on have EMC except my own. I figure NTAP is growing so much faster than EMC that in a long run it's worth not diversifying and have twice as much NTAP as I have of the usual gorilla. That's my suggestion for brave folk who own neither.
By the way adairm, you're a smart chap, what are you doing with technical analysis? Study after study has proven that the technical analysts, given only the left half of a chart cannot do better than random with their predictions of the developments of the right half. To put it more succinctly, it's nonsense that no gorilla game player should pay attention to. In the words of our Merlin, aka Mike Buckley, knowing that he can't predict the short term puts him into a minority of investors. Only a minority makes big money. We don't have to oppose the majority compulsively but we do have to understand what the majority usually does that's wrong.
Happy investing.
