That's what was clearly stated in the conference call.

2)Qualcom still gets royalty payments from all form of cdma with out any compromise and essentially becomes a research &development house?

That was implied in the conference call, but I'd add one other element. When qcom sold the handset division to Kyocera, they also received a juicy engineering support contract. I think this will become a major part of qcom's business as Motorola, Nokia, and others try to implement cdma, cdma2000, wcdma, etc. Very similar to the Rambus business model.
