Thanks frank, but if you dont mind, please explain a little more. My qcom holdings are currently as follows....not what I used to have, but at least I still have some......

3 2003 leaps

How will this spinoff effect my holdings. Am I getting appreciation in current holdings....am I getting new shares of the spun off company and etc....

Most of all, I am curious as to how the leaps fit in. I see how the shares will, but the leaps are not stock...they are simply contracts to buy the stock. lets say they are going to issue .25shares of the new company per qcom share ( just picking a number out of the blue..it means nothing ). Wouldnt the leaps have to be excersised prior to the spin off. In other words, wouldnt you actually have to hold the stock, to gain anything from the spin off....if not, please explain what happens with my 3 leaps when the spinooff occures

Thanks much for your help
