Of course we may not find out if STMicro is an active customer...as I indicated, however, Aware has stated very clearly that customers pay fees when the chips are shipped and those revenues show up in AWRE's reported earnings with a quarterly lag time. Now my point really isn't what you are commenting on. My point is we have means to find out if STMicro is in fact using AWRE technology...in this particular product or any other of their products and we should attempt to deal with facts, rather than guessing. I've just spoke to an engineer who told me there is no evidence other than AWRE press releases about the license agreement that indicate ST has or is using AWRE technology. Niether he or I are saying ST isn't using AWRE technology, however we just don't have an evidence of it.

As for the press release on this particular ADSL chipset...it doesn't exist yet as I read it.

"Through a joint development project with Nortel Networks, STMicroelectronics will create an optimized G.lite Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line ADSL chipset.

As you say Elroy..."but who knows??" I will say both companies have been known to use ALA technology or products in some applications, Nortel uses AWRE technology in some cases and STMicro has licensed AWRE technology....that is all we really know. Hum...we're still at square one I guess. <g>
