Yes, it is FUD. The purpose seems to be to slow the adoption of RDRAM so as to slow the ramp for the P4.
The ultimate target of all this FUD is Intel.

The MOBO issues with the 820's last year created this spoiling opportunity so to some extent the Intel wounds are self inflicted.

The good news is that the P4 launch is not likely to have any such problems and it has been in Beta for a long time.

Notice there are no rumors of either alpha or beta DDR platforms any where to be found. DDR as main memory for a PC does not exist. The whole DDR campaign smells bad.

RDRAM has clear sailing ahead!
