The Iraqi government does not care. If they had their druthers they'd just as soon gas the little buggers. These are the non-regime villagers and peasants of the country. The Iraq Government has not been allowed to sell enough of their oil to even maintain a proper infrastructure for the Bagdad regime of Saddam Hussein. The folk to the South, North and East have long been considered enemies of the regime (which controls them via a military presence).

I don't want to belabor this as we've been over it a couple of times before and even the staunchest patriots have come to see the senselessness of it all. At this point the sanctions are not serving any of the original intentions. They are a vehicle for funding the American military and for maintaining instability in the Middle East.

Blame...what is wrong with laying blame at the feet of the persons who have assumed responsibility for targeting innocent villagers as a military strategy? This is no incidental by-product of a war. It is the specific, planned, and authorized agenda of the Clinton/Albright policy.

This is all well known and the Whitehouse makes no apologies for it. The bottom line is these kids would not be dieing by the hundreds of thousands if we were not doing what we are doing. It is our deliberate intended actions that are causing these deaths. Read up on it, and I think you will agree with me.
