I see that the AUG 110's would fetch you $5 3/4 which is approx. 5%.

Not bad for a monthly basis.
If compounded on a regular basis, a person could generate a lot of money.

...especially is the calls were written at times where it looked like the odds were greater that it would be called.

For instance, if you expected ABCD Company to rise in stock price over the next few weeks, you could buy the common shares and then immediately cover them.
If you could do this month after month, the interest would really add up.
Especially if done with the riskier stocks.
Most of them pay closer to 7%-10% per month.

Do you see a downside?
