An interesting note from Greg M on his Home on the Range thread re shorting (also applies to buying puts).......

"Shorting is for pro's only. If you are going to do it, look for a reason other than the market is going down, like missed earnings, failed products, or bad management.. If you can find a stock that has some of the above problems, and the market is in bad shape, then is time to enter into one.

Remember shorts are not investments, they are trades. If one is not an effective trader on the long side, then one should never even think about shorting.

I like to see a trend before I short. Right now, I'm not short anything."

Hope you paper traded out of your JNPR puts today and kept those profits.
