luc, how stable is that dividend on AU?

The bears were busy today, I'm 350 posts behind, no time to catch up.

What do you think of MO? I have a friend who is big into tobacco stocks and he said the dividends are more secure than any other industry. Without going into it too much, his reasoning is that (1) people won't quit smoking (2) the gov will get no money by putting them out of business (3) MO is the biggest food company in the US, so the gov can't force them to raise prices (4) the dividend is the only thing supporting the stock price so they can't lower it (5) etc.

A report from ClownVille USA. I overheard a 12 year veteran Cisco employee telling the interns to become fulltimers for the 500 options they would recieve. According to him, they would be millionaires in no time. I couldn't help myself but to step in and said, "do you know that Cisco would have to get to a valuation of HALF the entire stock market for you to be a millionaire"? I got no response, these clowns in the valley know nothing about valuation. I think I saw the light, now it makes sense why these tech stock get so overvalued. It's these people that have 10's of millions of dollars out of luck that diversify into you know what, tech, that are driving up the bubble stocks. I can't help but think that this ENTIRE Silicon Valley will be bankrupt when the inevitable SI real estate bubble collapses....
