Eminem, 'N Sync top MTV card

LOS ANGELES (The Hollywood Reporter) --- Tying with six nominations each, hip-hop phenomenon Eminem and pop boy band 'N Sync are set to duel it out at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. Eminem's poignant "The Real Slim Shady" and 'N Sync's "Bye Bye Bye" will face off in two top categories: video of the year and the Viewer's Choice Award. Pop diva Christina Aguilera leads female nominees with five mentions.

Eminem Marks Eighth Week Atop National Music Charts

HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - For the eighth consecutive week, Eminem maintains the top spot on the national music charts. His sophomore release, ``The Marshall Mathers LP'' (Aftermath/Interscope), shifted more than 247,000 units in the week ending July 16, according to sales data released Wednesday.

If you really want my opinion, I think Alan Greenspan has recently been far more obscene and destructive than lyrics from a pop album.
