Kern Schools Federal Credit Union Selects SEDONA Customer Relationship Management Solution; Credit Union Targets Direct Mail Programs with Intarsia

LIMERICK, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 26, 2000--Kern Schools Federal Credit Union, Bakersfield, Calif., has selected the Intarsia(TM) Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software solution supplied by SEDONA(R) Corporation (NASDAQ: SDNA) (www.sedonacorp.com) to enhance its marketing programs.

With the Intarsia CRM solution, Kern Schools FCU can target direct mail programs to specific audiences, produce customized reports based on a broad range of standardized templates, and update its customer information database quickly and efficiently. In addition, the company has the option of having multiple users to log onto the system simultaneously supporting productivity goals.

"We began using the system in early July, and are thrilled with its ease-of-use and range of capabilities," said Patti Reed, marketing and sales manager of Kern Schools. "Initially, we will use the Intarsia system to produce targeted direct mail programs and build and run query lists. In the future, we plan to use the Intarsia profitability module to assess the risks associated with interest rate changes. This will enable us to present precise financial data at our asset/liability meetings allowing us to support proactive rate adjustments."

Kern Schools FCU decided to seek a new CRM solution when its legacy MCIF system developed a Y2K glitch. After reviewing a number of options, the credit union selected SEDONA Intarsia based on its familiar Windows-based functionality and proven reputation among small and mid-sized financial institutions.

"Our former marketing customer information file (MCIF) system limited our ability to target direct mail effectively, and made updating customer files cumbersome and time consuming," Ms. Reed said. "We expect the SEDONA Intarsia system to streamline our entire marketing process."

"Our Intarsia customer relationship management solution helps small and mid-sized financial institutions like Kern Schools Federal Credit Union to identify and focus on their most profitable clients and create programs to increase marketing return on investment," said Alyssa Dver, vice president of marketing, SEDONA. "As Kern Schools FCU begins to refine and precisely target its marketing programs, the credit union will realize the strategic advantage our advanced CRM solution can provide."

Intarsia is a comprehensive CRM solution that provides personalized customer interactions and profitability management to help optimize sales and marketing opportunities specifically for small and mid-sized financial services companies such as community banks, credit unions, brokerage firms and insurance agencies.
