Linmor Inc - Linmor's Nebula enhances network performance Linmor Inc LIR Shares issued 43,026,065 2000-07-24 close $0.6 Tuesday Jul 25 2000 Mr. Bogdan Materna reports Linmor Technologies' Nebula performance monitor version 6.0 will be the first and only performance management system capable of real time monitoring of more than one million network objects for carrier-class data networks. This new technology enables carriers to deploy proactive, predictive and preventative measures that can avoid costly network slow downs and outages. The Yankee Group forecasts the market for carrier-class performance management systems will be $550-million (U.S.) by 2003. "With the enormous growth of the Internet comes the enormous task of managing that growth," said Bogdan Materna, chief technology officer for Linmor Technologies. "The ability to scale network monitoring systems to more than one million objects is a critical performance management issue for carriers so they can efficiently manage growth and ensure quality of service is not compromised. Our system now provides 10 times higher scalability than our nearest competitor." "The level of scalability that Linmor is talking about represents a significant technological achievement in the carrier world and gives Linmor a key competitive advantage over other solutions," said Eric Hindin, director of data communications for the Yankee Group. "The ability for a network service provider to monitor and report on over one million objects iin their network in real time will allow them to gain even deeper control over the operation of the network, which can only further improve the performance they are offering to their customers." Improving the scalability of performance monitoring systems is necessary to manage the increasingly complex Internet infrastructure, and the growing demand for high-speed Internet service. According to communications industry researchers, the number of North American households with high-speed Internet access will grow from approximately 1.6 million to 31.7 million by 2003. While Emarketer predicts that worldwide e-commerce revenues will increase from $233-billion at year-end 2000 to $1.4-trillion in 2003. In today's extremely competitive network service provider market, carriers cannot afford to be without a performance management system that can monitor their entire data network. "As the Internet infrastructure is doubling in growth annually, Linmor is staying a step ahead," said John Farrell, president of Linmor Technologies. "We are doubling Nebula's object management capability every six months, with the objective of achieving scalability of over five million network objects reporting in real time by the end of 2001." Linmor will be showcasing this ground-breaking advancement in scalability at the DSLcon exposition and conference in September in Boston, Mass. Carriers and industry media are invited to attend a demonstration of Nebula at booth No.225 at the World Convention Center. (c) Copyright 2000 Canjex Publishing Ltd. canada-stockwatch.com |
