Brian Modoff, Deutsche Banc Alex Brown: (QCOM)

On the QCOM spin off:

In terms of the core company, they'll have a gain from not having a
product to sell. So when they go to a NOK, ERICY for licensing
agreements they can say they have something they need improving
their leverage

Wall Street will be valuing the IPO based on its royalties

He thinks they'll focus on CDMA

In 4G, they may spend some money on different tech

The SpinCo spin-off allows them to more aggressively pursue other
techs in terms of cross-licensing, acquiring or even licensing in
itself to bring these techs in house adding to the core semis they
provide to mobile systems. This improves the functionality of the
devices and competitiveness.

They are also very good at CDMA, much better than anyone else
is.

The management team is also very strong

China had already employed a GSM standard, made sense to stick
with their original plan

He's looking for roughly 2 billion in revs for SpinCo.

As we get closer to end of the year, we'll see more 3G deployment
moving stock price up

Has a price target of 110.00
