Thanks for the "addition." I did not know that Vulcan had an interest in TiVo. But then again, its smart to have an investment in other "market participants" As we know, this is what Bill G. (MSFT) did when he funded AAPL a few years back. Nevertheless, Vulcan's interest in Replay is substantial. How substantial is its holdings in TiVo? I can only speculate that it is not relative to the other entities that essentially behind TiVo (i.e. Philips, Sony, AOL, and recently DirecTV).

Thanks for citing the Dish Player, Echostar's response to DirecTV's involvement with TiVo. I'm surprised that the DirecTV/TiVo receiver is not yet available. I thought it was. It was introduced at CES in January of this year.

While I was disappointed not to see ReplayTV team up with DirecTV, I am of the view that I don't necessarily want a machine to do too many things. If something goes wrong, than everything becomes non-functional. Also, if one wants to make the transition to HD in the foreseeable future (i.e. DirecTV Plus) the TiVo add-on becomes, IMHO, problematic.

Thanks again for your contribution. You appear to know much in this area, and I for one welcome your input. How do you see this market maturing? The MSO response to DBS involvement is fascinating.
