Many news reporters focus on the companies that have missed earnings. But many companies have had good earnings. Texas Instruments earnings were up 37%, I believe. And they expect strong earnings next quarter which is usually a slower quarter for them. Also, EMC and SUNW had excellent earnings.
Even GE's earnings were stronger than the Street expected. CPQ reported strong earnings yesterday, and said that future demand for their products would be strong.

SooooI feel the public has been misled about earnings this quarter because the press focuses on those companies that have reported poor earnings.

Cheers,

Mephisto
