That is true... during WWII there were American propaganda posters depicting muscular GIs with heavy, mud-caked boots crushing young German children (called Baby Krauts on the poster) under their boots while gutting the Nazi swine with glistening bayonets.

Even at the time I think some of the US war posters were controversial and just try to find them today!!

(Of course some of Germany's posters were just as lurid too.)
