I looked at the Infineon .pdf, which was fascinating:

They claim 25 chipsets utilizing DDR from 9 vendors. (page 4)

A fascinating "chipset market share in 2001 by Mbits served" chart is given on page 5. It indicates that VIA is going to be a big player, and we all know what they think of RDRAM.

They think that low latency is the thing for network memory. (page 10)

For granularity, they are talking about x32 and x64 DDR products. (page 13)

They are predicting DDR to have larger number of bits shipped in 2000 than RDRAM, and to be the future mainstream memory technology. (page 17)
