"Cisco Acquires Voice-Over-IP Developer For $175 Million" Here's another M&A VoIP deal, valuing employees at around $7M per head! "SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Cisco Systems said it acquired Komodo Technology, a developer of voice-over-IP devices that enable analog telephones to place calls over IP-based networks. The all stock transaction is valued at approximately $175 million. This includes a 10.5% minority investment Cisco Systems made in Komodo Technology in March. ESS, a publicly traded developer of chipsets and other media convergence technologies, holds a minority stake of 23% in Komodo Technology. The 25 Komodo employees and company CEO Jan Fandriato will join the packet telephony division in Cisco's service provider line of business."
