Thanks Voltaire & Venkie. Not sure I understand it. You mean to say, the $20 rise in JDSU on 7/20/00 gap up is due to MM trading between themselves during pre-market? Even then, how does it get justified as to what price level to open the stock with respect to supply/demand? Another example, EXTR was opened up about $7 yesterday (7/25)for about 20,000 or so shares. Then, it stayed between $140 and $142 for most of the day.
