Speaking of depletion, AGA fantasies and lower production The Texas Railroad Commission reports that despite increased drilling ,NG production through May,2000 was slightly DOWN from the same period in 1999.Not irrelevant given Texas' role in NG production. Also, to pound on the AGA a little more-- on 7/19 AGA's Chris Mcgill said we would reach 2.9 tcf by Nov. and "prices are going to go down". Yet, also on 7/19 Dr. Bruce Bell Chair of the Gas Assoc. of Oklahoma said "higher consumer prices are a near certainty". Question is do the suits at AGA have any idea what is going on in the fields of their members? They are so busy being politicos they have lost touch with the production side.If they are out of touch with TX and OK who are the talking to? AGA wants people to continue to build homes with gas and merchant plants with NG turbines. That's what I want too but AGA has a responsibility to identify potential supply shortages which can disrupt the economy.--A hot August will show how far AGA has drifted from reality. When asked how all the new NG turbines would impact demand one official said its too soon to tell!--they better get some econometric models in a hurry-- Frank
