Gene...thanks for the very thorough and sensible answer...it helps a lot. Now the question is, how does an individual investor find out about the announcement of a MOC imbalance? Maybe I need to check with Quote.com to see how they print it on T&S.

BTW, it happened today with another small stock I follow, RHB. Thing couldn't get past 32 all day. Last pre-close print was 31 11/16 and then boom...10% of the daily volume - largest block trade of the day - prints w/in a minute after close at 32 3/4. Specialist apparently had to go deep into his order book to get the shares to sell.
