the expected data rate on a third-generation network would only be 156 kilobits per second If this is accurate, it is another apparent confirmation of what President of Lucent Wireless division indicated in May. The standard for data in W-CDMA is not set. This seems even worse - there is no standard because it don't work! Could this be what Dr. Viterbi, et al figured out a long time ago and decided on the separate data channel / HDR approach?
